This exciting summertime art camp is a six-week program where kids age 6–12 can explore all the art-filled adventures they can dream of.
Tue–Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM · Sun: 1 PM – 4 PM · Mon Closed
Camp Create is the Museum of Arts – DeLand's signature 6-week summer art camp for young artists ages 6–12. Each week campers dive deep into a different art medium — from watercolor painting to ceramics to collage — guided by our talented teaching artists. Camp Create runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the museum's education studio. Campers explore the museum galleries, gain hands-on studio experience, and build lasting friendships. No prior art experience necessary — just curiosity and a love of creating!
Camp takes place at the Museum of Arts – DeLand, 600 N Woodland Blvd, DeLand, FL 32720. Registration for Summer 2025 is now closed. Check back in January 2026 for Summer 2026 registration dates.

June 9–13 Campers build a foundation in drawing through games, exercises, and observation. We'll study works in the museum's collection and respond through our own sketches.
June 16–20 An exploration of watercolor technique and color mixing. Campers will create layered watercolor compositions inspired by nature and the Florida landscape.
June 23–27 From torn paper to found objects, campers will create dimensional and flat collage works. We'll look at the work of Romare Bearden and Henri Matisse for inspiration.
July 7–11 (no camp July 4) Campers are introduced to relief printing using foam and linoleum. They'll design and print their own patterns and images to take home.
July 14–18 Hands-on clay work — pinch pots, coil building, and surface decoration. Finished pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up at the end of camp.
July 21–25 Campers select their best work from the summer and prepare for our end-of-camp gallery show. Family and friends are invited to a Friday afternoon reception to celebrate our young artists.
Camp Create is directed by the MOA Education Department. Our camp director oversees curriculum, staffing, and daily operations to ensure a safe and enriching experience for every camper. For questions about the program, contact education@moartsdeland.org.
Each week of camp is led by a professional artist-educator with experience teaching youth. Our teaching artists specialize in the medium of that week's curriculum and bring enthusiasm and expertise to every session. All camp staff are background-screened and CPR/First Aid certified.
