The Studio Artist Class is a class meant to grow students' abilities technically and conceptually through a focused 6 week session of classes.
Tue–Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM · Sun: 1 PM – 4 PM · Mon Closed
Join us for weekly after-school art classes at the Museum of Arts – DeLand. Our studio art classes offer hands-on creative experiences for young artists ages 6-12 and 12+ during the school year. Led by experienced teaching artists, each class explores a variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Students are guided through projects inspired by the museum's exhibitions and the broader art world. Classes meet weekly during the school year and are held in the museum's dedicated education studio.
Classes are held at the Museum of Arts – DeLand education studio, located at 600 N Woodland Blvd, DeLand, FL 32720. Registration opens each August for the fall semester and each January for the spring semester. Watch our website and social media for announcements.

We understand that schedules can be unpredictable. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if your child cannot attend a class. Make-up classes may be available on a space-available basis. Refunds are not offered for missed classes, but we will do our best to accommodate schedule conflicts.
All primary materials are provided as part of the supply fee. Students are welcome to bring their own sketchbook or additional supplies. We recommend wearing clothes that can get messy — art happens! Smocks are available in the studio.
Students may be dropped off up to 10 minutes before class begins. Please arrange pick-up no later than 15 minutes after class ends. The museum's main entrance on Woodland Blvd is the designated drop-off and pick-up location. Staff will be present to greet students upon arrival.
We strive to maintain a respectful and creative environment for all students. We ask that all participants treat fellow students, instructors, and museum property with care and respect. Students who are persistently disruptive may be asked to sit out activities or, in rare cases, removed from the program without refund.
Thursdays, 4:00–5:30 PM Projects in this session focus on fundamental art-making skills: drawing from observation, color mixing, and intro to sculpture. Students explore a range of media each week.
Thursdays, 5:30–7:00 PM The teen session builds on core skills with a focus on personal expression and portfolio development. Students work across media including painting, printmaking, and digital concept sketching.
Our studio art classes are led by professional artists and educators with extensive experience working with youth. All instructors hold degrees in fine arts or art education and undergo background screening. Instructor assignments are announced at the start of each session.
The Education Department at MOA coordinates all studio programs. For questions about registration, policies, or curriculum, please contact education@moartsdeland.org or call (386) 734-4371.
